Buckhorn Guide Service specializes in Muskie fishing Kentucky's Buckhorn and Green River lakes. Kentucky is known as a top state for producing 50 inch class muskies, Green River Lake offers 8,000 acres of prime muskie waters with a tenth of the fishing pressure that Cave run receives. Buckhorn lake at only 1,200 acres offers even more seclusion from fishing pressure and boat traffic.

Also Buckhorn Lake has a new trophy muskie regulation allowing only one fish over forty inches a day. Muskies in Kentucky can be caught year round with March, May, September, and October being the prime months. Muskies can be caught casting or trolling or with live bait. The best time for trophies is March and September that's when all of the big girls seam to be moving and willing to bite. May is always a good month for numbers providing that that the lakes are not flooded.

Also available on Buckhorn Lake is some of Kentucky's best crappie fishing with crappies averaging over 12 inches and plenty over 14 Crappie months are April-May and July-September

Lodging is available on both lakes and can be arranged by the individual or guide.  All tackle is furnished except rain suits What to bring Rain suits, lunch, cameras, video equipment .ect you also welcome to bring your own tackle.

Deposits are required half of the trip is usually the norm. Fishing license is available at the marinas or online at the Kentucky Department for Fish and Wildlife.

The Guide

I have been guiding these waters for more than ten years. I also fish professional muskie tournaments all over the United States and Canada. I am active member of the Kentucky chapter of Muskies Inc. and have won many of MI's Master division releases and tournaments. I have also written articles for many muskie magazines and attend many muskie sport shows through out the east.
